# PSO J352-15

PSO J352-15 is a quasar in the constellation [Aquarius](https://spacecatalog.org/constellation/aquarius), 179.4 Gly from Earth. It was discovered in 2018.

A radio-loud quasar in the early universe, and one of very few from that era whose jets have been resolved: two lobes about 1,600 light-years apart, imaged across a distance that leaves them a few thousandths of an arcsecond across.

## At a glance

- **WHAT IT IS:** Quasar
- **HOW FAR:** 179.4 Gly — A luminosity distance, from its redshift — how faint it looks. The light itself left 12.4 billion years ago.
- **WHERE TO LOOK:** [Aquarius](https://spacecatalog.org/constellation/aquarius) — The patch of sky it sits in, as seen from Earth.

## Properties

| Quantity | Value |
| --- | --- |

| CONSTELLATION | Aquarius |
| RIGHT ASCENSION (J2000) | 23h 29m 36.8s |
| DECLINATION (J2000) | −15° 20′ 14.5″ |

## Catalogue data

### WHAT KIND OF THING IT IS

What the object is in itself, rather than how it happens to look from here.

| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Accretion state | quasar — a thin disc near its Eddington limit |

### WHERE IT IS AND HOW IT MOVES

Position, motion across the sky and the size it covers on it. These are measurements of the object as seen from here, so every one of them depends on where here is.

| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Redshift (z) | 5.84 |
