] STAR CLUSTER47 Tuc Cluster is a globular cluster in the constellation Tucana, 15 000 from Earth, shining at apparent magnitude 4.09 (). It is catalogued as 2MASX J00240535-7204531, C 106 and HD 2051, among 11 designations in total. It was discovered in 1751.
The second-brightest globular cluster in the sky and one of the densest, with a core so crowded that stars collide and merge into blue stragglers.

47 Tuc Cluster is not a point of light, so the limit above is the wrong one to hold it against: the same brightness spread over 31.8′ of sky is harder than a star of it, and goes first. Catalogued sizes are measured to a photographic contour, and the part an eye sees is usually smaller.
